1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Product for cleaning electrical contacts, with specific additives for dissolving corrosion.
2. CHARACTERISTICS
- KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt 60 is a contact cleaning oil that can be
- used to restore corroded electrical contacts.
- It can be broadcast economically and accurately with the tube of
- special spray.
- In addition to the corrosion dissolving components, the aerosol contains a
- mixture of solvents designed to remove grease and resinous residues. Electrical constant problems are not only due to corrosion but also to pollutant gases that form a film on the contact surfaces (“polymers”) and reduce electrical conductivity.
- KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt 60 is also available as a concentrate. The concentrate, which is diluted in the KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt WL product, has the same properties as the aerosol. Please also refer to the specific application instructions on page 2.

4. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Simply apply KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt 60 using the aerosol can. A few drops on each pair of contacts are often sufficient.
The cleaning and oxidation dissolution process can be enhanced by mechanical action. If the switches and connectors are easily accessible, you can wipe them carefully with a cellulose cloth, chamois leather or cotton pad, for example.
If mechanical action is not possible, allow KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt 60 to penetrate for 10 to 15 minutes. Dirt and dissolved corrosion products should then be rinsed off with KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt WL. Finally, apply KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt 61 to obtain a protective film.
KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt 60 is usually effective even without post-treatment. However, this increases the risk that traces of corrosion will reappear quickly. You can spray KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt 40 on contacts of larger connectors and resistant relays to protect them against corrosion. If you are certain that a contact is only malfunctioning due to contamination, resignification, etc. and not corrosion, also apply KONTAKT CHEMIE 61 directly without pre-treatment.
If you are using KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt 60 in large quantities, purchasing the concentrate may be more economical. Dilute it according to the instructions.
If you are using Kontakt 60 in series production, you should test its compatibility with plastics. Pay particular attention to plastics that are susceptible to cracking (e.g. polycarbonate and polystyrene) and parts subject to high mechanical stress.
Diluted solutions of KONTAKT CHEMIE Kontakt 60 and the aerosol contain flammable solvents. The product must therefore not be sprayed on live electrical equipment. Make sure that the solvents have completely evaporated before restarting the equipment. To do this, wait at least 15 minutes. Certain local conditions may require a longer drying time, especially if the areas to be treated are not sufficiently exposed to fresh air. Optimal surface cleaning in 3 phases
Phase 1: Kontakt 60 dissolves the corrosion layers and thus restores the metallic contact.
Without phases 2 and 3, it is possible that corrosion will reappear after a certain time. This depends on the type of material and the surrounding conditions.
Phase 2: Kontakt WL removes corrosion residues, grease and dirt. Phase 3: Kontakt 61 forms a thin protective film that prevents corrosion and wear.
